I wonder if we aren't dealing him to Minnesota.

And if we keep him do we trade Martin?
I wonder if we aren't dealing him to Minnesota. |

Man, I have a seriously sick feeling in my stomach right now.

Unbelievably dumb.
The Maloofs and Geoff Petrie are now certifiable
FOOLS.
The Kings needed a point guard. So, instead of drafting the best point guard in the draft (Ricky Rubio), or even the second best one (Jonny Flynn), the Kings drafted a shooting guard (with personal baggage and) learning to become a point guard. This is only a good move for the Kings if they trade Kevin Martin. That is probably why they traded for Sergio Rodriguez - he IS a point guard. Tyreke is not the solution there. I never get what I want with the Kings. So... HAVE FUN, guys. I have other things to do now. I wish the Kings all the luck in the world (and drafting like this they are going to need it), but passing on Ricky and Jonny is double dumb - unless they are targeting leaving Sacramento soon. Since the Minnesota Timberwolves just drafted the two best point guards in the draft, RICKY RUBIO and JONNY FLYNN, I will be watching the Timberwolves whenever possible. David Kahn is king, man. Wow! Regardless which player, Ricky or Jonny, wins the starting point guard position and which they trade, the Timberwolves have just guaranteed a bright future for themselves. If they trade one later, or keep both, I now have two more reasons to follow the Timberwolves, besides Kevin Love. If only Minnesota wasn't so freaking cold in the Winter. But I
love those black b-caps with the white howling wolf image on them.
BTW, I get the feeling that the Timberwolves will trade either Ricky or Jonny to the Knicks - which is probably why Walsh is smiling so big while the Knicks fans jeer and boo his pick.

So Rubio is a T-Wolve ..........................................

Minny picked Rubio for someone else. No other explanation for Flynn/Rubio.

I just woke up and had a weird dream that the Kings drafted Mitch Richmond this year...

I don't agree with the pick. But hey they didn't ask me! Here's hoping that Petrie knows what the hell he is doing. I keep hearing this guy needs
the ball in his hands to be effective. Not really what you want to hear in a PG. I guess we'll see... I cant see Martin and Evans in the backcourt playing
together effectively.

Hey, I got my mock draft pick right for the Warriors!
I wonder if Rubio or Flynn is headed back to the Kings for Evans. I can't imagine the Wolves drafted both to keep them. |

If things remain as they are (with the Maloofs and Petrie in glee about getting Tyreke), and (with the horror movie theme music playing in the background) am quite sure they will, I will be missing quite a few Kings games, believe me! If they want a Tyreke Evans, why did they trade John Salmons? Go figure.

BigO wrote:Listening to the Maloof brother interview Tyreke is the best player in the draft and Petrie was whoopng it up when he fell to us. He pretty much even said that they would have picked Tyreke even if they had the first pick, so getting him at number 4 was a miracle. I am pretty certain we are keeping him. |

Nope, I think Evans is their man. They brought him in for two looks and loved him. At least on the defensive end he's what they need. how does he fit in
with Westphal's offense though? Attack the rim guy who needs ISO sets. Sounds more like Salmons...

Well, if not the Kings, Rubio or Flynn has to be headed somewhere right? I mean why do the T'Wolves move up to 5 only to draft PGs back to back?
Oh, and a small part of me was very happy to see Brandon Jennings go to Milwaukee. Just seems fitting somehow. |

But then, having two potentially great rookie point guards fighting it out for the starter position could bode well for the Timberwolves as well. It will be interesting, for me, to see what happens. My estimation of David Kahn has skyrocketed so far tonight. In addendum, as a closing thought, I am very happy for Tyler Hansbrough, being drafted in the lottery, at #13, to the Indiana Pacers. I will be following Tyler's career. Way to go, Larry Bird!

I'm looking forward to the Vegas Summer League games. We will get to see how they plan on using Evans. All of what I'm seeing or hearing on radio and
TV says the Kings got the right guy. I hope they are right.

Wow!
The Timberwolves selected the three best pure point guards in the draft! A(freaking)mazing! They are not keeping Lawson, but trading him to the Nuggets. Still, the Timberwolves have four picks and three of them are pure point guards. They are have some deals in the mix. I am looking forward to seeing what David Kahn is thinking; but I like it. According to him, he intends to keep BOTH Ricky Rubio and Johnny Flynn and use them like the championship Pistons used Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars. Even if the trade Ricky Rubio to the Knicks (which would be big in NYC and in Spain, believe me), I see the Timberwolves' rebuilding getting a big boost via this draft and trades that might result from it. Again... Wow! And they still another first round pick.

I do like this pick by the Kings - Omri Casspi. They are going to need him.

I made no bones about the fact that Rubio was the player that interested me most in this entire draft. But I had some concerns. And if Geoff, who say a lot
more of Rubio than I did, who is the GM of the only team to watch him workout and who is a better judge of basketball talent had him available and passed then
I have to accept that either he has serious misgivings about his potential to succeed in the NBA or Evans really is that good.
I actually hope it's the latter as it's better for my team and I'd like to see Rubio succeed anyway. On another note, I think if Minnesota is really intent on keeping both Flynn and Rubio and using them together it is going to be a mistake. Love both guys, but that's a bad plan for a few reasons IMO. |

Evans and Casspi are fine with me thus far.
Any credence to #31 for Sergio Rodriguez and #38 as reported on 1140? I'm in Fresno for now so only learned of this indirectly. |
