A big win with two starters out and in a place that is hard to get a win, even with a great team. Are we seeing the beginning of a sucessful rebuilding or was this a fluke? Only time will tell, but it was a very good win for a Kings' team, organization and fan base desperate for any straw of hope!

Martin injury & Nocioni DUI. Anyone know the customary suspension for a DUI charge?

Udrih has been playing well and has a real chance to shine here. I'm quite optimistic that he may increase his value to the point were others don't laugh when Udrih's name is mentioned in trades.

The Kings ran up against a really really good team last night. They did very well, played under control, played excellent team defense and simply aren't as good as the Hawks. Only seven TOs meant all those extra shots that, if they hit a few more, they'd have won the game. It seemed they stopped moving the ball in the fourth quarter - a mistake that young folks make.

Tough loss last night but expected. 3rd game in 4 nights against SA on the road spelt disaster for our Kings.

Nice to watch Hawes play a bit closer to his ability, although much of it came after the game was over. I'm definetly seeing him as a good 3rd big for a premier team a la Miller as I've mentioned in the past.

I liked much of what I saw from Martin too.

RE: Westphal's use of Mason and May in the starting lineup, I think he's trying to be strategic. For one, Casspi is a rookie and Westphal may want him to show a bit more before awarding him such a prize. It also helps him leverage starting May over Hawes as it's a bit less glaring this way. My guess is that Westphal is using May to help motivate Hawes to step up. Tyreke, Omri and Jon B. all play hard and have changed the toughness of this team. There is a new team in town and they won't make the playoffs but they will be fun to watch again.

The pre-season performances of Evans and Casspi have this Kings fan optimistic about Petrie's draft and the Kings' future. Evans seemed a given but Casspi's play is surprising. Most figured he would take longer to develop and languish on the bench this year, but now Casspi appears to be competing for the starting small forward spot.

JB, nice that you got your butt out to Arco last night. I was there, too, and there was lots to like. Biggest eye candy for me was the constant pounding on the glass and the tendency for so many players to rush the boards when a teammate launched.
